BLS Instructor Training Class
The BLS Instructor course is designed to prepare instructor candidates to teach American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Provider and Heartsaver First Aid/CPR/AED courses. Instructor candidates learn how to use AHA Instructor teaching materials, ensure that students meet learning objectives, offer student coaching skills, provide an objective skills performance evaluation, and follow AHA Instructor and course policies.
This course will be conducted in-person. You must have a current valid AHA Provider certification in the discipline you want to teach prior to coming to the class. The BLS Instructor Essentials is a requirement.
You will be required to teach a section of a provider course. You must bring a person with you to act as your student. They will not be charged for this course, and they will receive a free certification after completion.

- Hold an American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS (Basic Life Support) CPR card
When you become BLS Basic Life Support Instructor you can teach all BLS healthcare provider courses and Heartsaver courses. If you are a Heartsaver Instructor, you can only teach Heartsaver courses.
