BLS Instructor Training Class

The BLS Instructor course is designed to prepare instructor candidates to teach American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Provider and Heartsaver First Aid/CPR/AED courses. Instructor candidates learn how to use AHA Instructor teaching materials, ensure that students meet learning objectives, offer student coaching skills, provide an objective skills performance evaluation, and follow AHA Instructor and course policies. 

This course will be conducted in-person. You must have a current valid AHA Provider certification in the discipline you want to teach prior to coming to the class. The BLS Instructor Essentials is a requirement.

You will be required to teach a section of a provider course. You must bring a person with you to act as your student. They will not be charged for this course, and they will receive a free certification after completion.

Who should take this course?

If you are passionate about saving lives, motivated to facilitate learning, feel comfortable in group settings, and find it easy to make complex concepts understandable to others, you may be a perfect candidate. Class fee: $375.00 for Instructor Trainer Course

Class fee: $73.00 for HS First Aid CPR AED Course

AHA requires that all BLS Instructor candidates take the Instructor Essential Course (42.65) https://shopcpr.heart.org/bls-instructor-essentials-online

When you become BLS Basic Life Support Instructor you can teach all BLS healthcare provider courses and Heartsaver courses. If you are a Heartsaver Instructor, you can only teach Heartsaver courses.

Course Completion Card

Upon completion of all course requirements, participants receive a Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED Course Completion Card which is valid for two years.

Continuing Education Credits

Depending on which Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED course option you choose, CE/CME may be available for your profession.
